Coffee typeArabica, washed, sun-dried DescriptionDoña Elsa Luz Avila de Alfaro, youngest sister of the Avila Magaña family, proudly follows the tradition of her ancestors as being responsible for this garden oasis of over 100 hectares of gorgeous bourbon coffee nurtured by the shade of "Inga" trees. El Portezuelo was once part of the lands under Dr. Francisco Magaña's supervision, grandfather of Doña Elsa Luz.
Rich Potable spring water is abundant at the slopes of El Portezuelo, flowing down from the untouched forest atop the hills. Strolling deep inside this centennial tree formation, it is very common to catch a glimpse of the well known butterfly, "morpho peleides" (common blue morph) and the very unusual species of "morpho polyphemus" (a morpho with semi translucent white wings).
